Mara Zampieri
Debut 1972 (Pavia, part of Nedda in Pagliacci). Since 1977, she sang at La Scala (parts of Amelia in Un ballo in maschera, Leonora in Il trovatore, Elizabeth of Valois in Don Carlos, etc.). In 1979 she performed at the Vienna Opera in Mercadante’s The Oath (together with Domingo). In 1982 she sang Aida at the Arena di Verona festival, and in 1984 she sang Tosca at the Bregenz festival. Performs on leading stages of the world. Note the performance of the title role in Catalani’s Valli in Bregenz (1990). In 1995 she sang the roles of Norma and Salome in Zurich. Among the parties are also Lady Macbeth, Odabella in Verdi’s Attila, Manon Lescaut. One of her best parts, Lady Macbeth, she recorded with conductor Sinopoli (Philips).
