Russian singer (bass). In 1908 he performed in Berlin as part of the Tsereteli entreprise. In 1915-19 he was a soloist at the Petrograd Theater of Musical Drama (debut as Mephistopheles). In 1920 he emigrated to Paris. He performed for a number of years at the Russian private opera Tsereteli in Paris. Participated in the English premiere of Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tale of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia (1926, part of Yuri Vsevolodovich). One of the best games is Pimen. In 1927 he sang in the same opera by Varlaam (together with Chaliapin). Among other parties Konchak, Prince Galitsky, Varangian guest, Tsar Saltan.
