Clara Novello

She performed as a singer from 1833 (in concerts). In 1837-39 she sang in Germany. In 1839 she performed with great success in St. Petersburg. She made her debut on the opera stage in 1841 (Parma, the title role in Rossini’s Semiramide). The repertoire also includes the title roles in Donizetti’s Norma, Lucrezia Borgia, and others. In 1855, she sang arias from Wagner’s operas directed by the composer in London.
