Anna Kiknadze
Anna Kiknadze was born in Tbilisi. She graduated from the conservatory there and began her singing career at the Opera and Ballet Theater named after Z. Paliashvili. On the Tbilisi stage, Anna sang the part of Lyubasha in The Tsar’s Bride and the title role in the opera Carmen. In the future, this role became one of the most successful works of the singer, as the press wrote: “Anna Kiknadze’s Carmen appeared earthly, in love with life, unaware of imminent death. Evidence of this was the intoxicatingly bewitching timbre of her rich, possessing unique properties of mezzo-soprano. Anna Kiknadze is absolutely organic in this role” (SPb Vedomosti edition).
After graduating from the conservatory, Anna won a number of convincing victories in vocal competitions, becoming a diploma winner at the I Republican Competition for Young Performers in Tbilisi and the IV International Competition for Young Opera Singers named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov in St. Petersburg, and soon a laureate of the International Singing Competition named after S. Moniuszko in Warsaw and the competition for young opera singers Operalia in Paris.
