Debut 1957 (in Bernstein’s musical West Side Story on Broadway, New York). In 1959 she sang in Santa Fe (Blondchen in Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio). Since 1960 in Cologne (Queen of the Night, etc.). In 1962 she sang at the Glyndebourne Festival (parts of Despina in “Everybody Does It So” and Zerbinetta in “Ariadne auf Naxos” by R. Strauss). She sang from 1962 also in Covent Garden (Gilda, Susanna, Olympia in Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann). Since 1966 at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Rosina). She toured in Buenos Aires and other countries. Among the roles are Oscar in Un ballo in maschera (Grist recorded this part twice, with Leinsdorf, RCA Victor; and Muti, EMI), Adina in Love Potion (conducted by Patane, Butterfly Music).
