Ekaterina Lyokhina is a Russian opera singer (soprano). Born in Samara in 1979. Laureate of the competition “St. Petersburg” (2005, 2007st prize) and the prestigious International Competition “Operalia”, founded by Placido Domingo (Paris, XNUMX, XNUMXst prize). Award Winner Grammy in the nomination “Best Opera Recording – 2011” for the role of Princess Clemence in the opera “Love from afar” by the Finnish composer Kaya Saariaho.

Ekaterina Lekhina is a graduate of the Department of Solo Singing of the Academy of Choral Art. V. S. Popov in the class of prof. S. G. Nesterenko. Subsequently, she completed her postgraduate studies at the academy.

Ekaterina Lekhina began her operatic career in 2006 in Vienna, where she made her debut in Mozart’s operas (as Madame Hertz in The Theater Director and Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute). With the role of the Queen of the Night, the singer has successfully performed at the largest theaters in the world, including the German Opera and the State Opera in Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the State Opera in Hannover, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, as well as in opera houses Frankfurt, Treviso, Hong Kong and Beijing. Performances by Ekaterina Lekhina took place at the Vienna Volksoper and at the London Covent Garden Theater (the role of Olympia in Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann), at the Municipal Opera and Ballet Theater in Santiago (the parts of Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème and Gilda in ” Rigoletto by Verdi), at the Liceu Grand Theater in Barcelona and the Royal Theater in Madrid (Diana’s part in Martin y Soler’s The Tree of Diana).

The singer has taken part in various international summer festivals – at the Martina Franca festival (the role of the Princess of Navarre in Donizetti’s Gianni de Paris), at the Klosterneuburg festival (the role of Olympia in Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann) and at the festival in Aix-en- Provence (part of Zaida in Mozart’s opera of the same name). Solo concerts by Ekaterina Lekhina took place in London, Marrakesh and Mumbai. In February 2012, on the stage of the Moscow International House of Music, the singer performed with a program of opera arias and duets (together with tenor Georgy Vasiliev). Among the upcoming opera debuts is the role of Elvira in Bellini’s Le Puritani at the Manaus Music Festival (Brazil).
