Hungarian singer (tenor). Debut 1951 (Bielefeld, part of Turiddu in Rural Honor). From 1958 he sang at the Bayreuth Festival (parts of Lohengrin, Walterav “Tannhäuser”). In 1960-65 he performed in San Francisco, in 1961-74 at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Lohengrin), where he performed more than 20 parts (Calaf, Radames, Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, etc.). He also performed at La Scala, the Vienna Opera, the Grand Opera. Since 1963 in Covent Garden.
