Nina Rautio

On stage since 1981, since 1987 soloist of the Bolshoi Theater. Since the 90s performs abroad. In 1991 she performed at the Metropolitan Opera (on tour of the Bolshoi Theater) the parts of Tatiana and Oksana in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Night Before Christmas. In 1992 she sang at La Scala the parts of Manon Lescaut, Elisabeth in Don Carlos. She also performed at Covent Garden (1994, as Aida), and sang the same role at the Metropolitan Opera in 1996. She performed as Lisa at the Opera-Bastille. Among the parties are also Desdemona, Matilda in William Tell, Leonora in Verdi’s The Force of Destiny. Among the recordings of Joanna in The Maid of Orleans by Tchaikovsky (conducted by Lazarev, Teldec), Manon Lescaut (conducted by Maazel, Sony).
