Debut 1939 (Bahr-Mildenburg). She performed with success at La Scala (1941, the part of Dorabella in “Everybody Does It That Way”). After the war, she sang in Paris, where she sang the part of Marina with great success. In 1948 she sang the part of Dorabella at the Glyndebourne Festival. In 1949 she sang the role of Countess Geschwitz in Berg’s Lulu (Venice). Since 1952 she lived in London. She performed at Covent Garden (debut 1948, part Carmen). A notable phenomenon was the recording in 1952 of the part of Marina (conducted by Dobrovein, soloists Hristov, Gedda and others, EMI).
