Mariana Nicolesco

Debut 1976 (Florence, part of Violetta). Since 1978 at the Metropolitan Opera (parts of Nedda in Pagliacci, Gilda, etc.). Since 1982 in the LS (debut in Berio’s opera “The True Story”). She sang at the Salzburg Festival 1990 (part of Elektra in Mozart’s Idomeneo). In 1992, in Monte Carlo, she sang the role of Elizabeth in Donizetti’s Mary Stuart. In 1996 she toured in Russia. Recordings include the title role in the opera Beatrice di Tenda by Bellini (conducted by Zedda, Sony) and others.
