Debut 1904 (Paris, part of Manon). She sang in Italy, including at La Scala (since 1907), where she made her debut as Louise in the Charpentier opera of the same name. From 1908 she performed at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Gilda, where Caruso was her partner). Among the parties are Mimi, Cio-Cio-san, Manon Lesko and others.

The art of Alda was highly valued by Toscanini. Author of the memoirs Men, Women and Tenors (1937).
