Debut 1958 (Milan, part of Mephistopheles). From 1959 he performed at La Scala, where he sang the parts of Falstaff (1961), Comte de Saint-Brie in the famous production of Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots (1962), and others. Debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1964. Since 1965, he often toured at the Colon Theatre. In 1968-1966 he sang in Venice, where he also acted as a director. Among the best roles are Leporello, Papageno, Escamillo, Guglielmo in “That’s the way everyone does it” and others. Among the recordings are the parts of Figaro (dir. Davies, Philips), Comte de Saint-Brie (dir. Gavazzeni, Melodram).
