Rodion Pogossov
Laureate of the All-Russian competition Beautiful voice (1997) and the international competition. A. Dvorak in Karlovy Vary. Graduated from the Russian Academy of Music. Gnesins (class of Dmitry Vdovin). He took part in master classes of outstanding singers and teachers of our time: I. Arkhipova, R. Scotto, D. Dorneman, L. Rosenberg.
At the age of 19 he made his debut in the opera by V.A. Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” (Papageno part) on the stage of the Moscow theater “New Opera” named after. E.V. Kolobov. In 2000 he became a member of the Metropolitan Opera Young Singers Program in New York. In 2002 he made his debut at Carnegie Hall and on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera (conductor – James Levine). In 2005, Rodion Pogosov made his European debut at the Frankfurt Opera (Germany) as Yeletsky (The Queen of Spades by P.I. Tchaikovsky). In addition, the singer gave solo concerts in Amsterdam, London, Ireland, Spain and other countries of the world.
Rodion Pogosov collaborates with such famous contemporary conductors as James Levine, Kent Nagano, Antonio Pappano, Roberto Abbado, James Conlon, Yves Abel, Sebastian Weigl, Jean-Christophe Spinozi, Evgeny Kolobov, Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Yurovsky. Performs with leading orchestras in Russia, such as the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, etc.
The singer’s repertoire includes the parts of Papageno (The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart), Malatesta Don Pasquale (G. Donizetti), Figaro (The Barber of Seville by G. Rossini), Guglielmo (All Women Do This by V. A. Mozart), Onegin (“Eugene Onegin” by P.I. Tchaikovsky), Valentine (“Faust” by Ch. Gounod), Belcore (“Love Potion”), etc.
