Debut 1959 (Oxford). She performed on various stages in England in op. Handel, Britten. Since 1966 in Covent Garden (parts of Terminus in Britten’s op. Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dido in Berlioz’s Les Troyens, etc.). In repertoire. also parts in op. Monteverdi, Cavalli, Rameau, Gluck. She has sung numerous times at the Glyndebourne Festival. She performed in the Scottish op. (part of Dorabella in “Everybody Does It So” (1974). At the English National Opera, the Spanish roles of Mary Stuart in the eponymous op. Donizetti, Julius Caesar in the eponymous op. Handel (1980). She performed in concerts with chamber repertoire (I. S. Bach, Mahler) Among the recordings are the title roles in Britten’s op “The Desecration of Lucretia” (conducted by S. Bedford, Decca), in Purcell’s op “Dido and Aeneas” (conducted by E. Lewis, Decca), etc.
