From 1900 he performed in private enterprises and t-rah. In 1923-28 he was a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre. 1st Spanish in Russian the roles of Beckmesser in Wagner’s Nuremberg Meistersingers (1909, op. t-r Zimin), Jack Rance in Puccini’s A Girl from the West (1913, ibid.), the King of Clubs in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges (1926, Mariinsky Theatre), Wozzeck in one. op. Berg (1927, Mariinsky Theatre) and others. Among the parties are Demon, Dirty, Mizgir, Tonio in op. “Clowns”, Rigoletto, Amonasro and others. Honored Artist of the Republic (1925).
