Italian composer, representative of the Neapolitan school. Created about 40 operas. Among them are “Cato in Utica” (1728, Rome, libretto by Metastasio), “Abandoned Dido” (1726, Rome, libretto by Metastasio). Among his pupils is Pergolesi.
