John Aller

Debut 1977 (part of Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale). In 1979, in Brussels, he performed the part of Belmont in Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio. He performed with success in other Mozartian roles (1986, Covent Garden, Ferrando in “That’s what everyone does”; 1988, the Salzburg Festival, the part of Don Ottavio in “Don Giovanni”, etc.). In 1992 he sang the part of Cavalier Belfiore in Rossini’s Journey to Reims at Covent Garden. Recordings include the title role in Rossini’s Comte Ory (conductor Gardiner, Philips), the part of Nadir in Bizet’s Les Peelers (conductor Plasson, EMI).
