Debut 1834 (Varese). From 1841 he sang at La Scala. Varesi is the first to perform the role of Antonio in Donizetti’s Linda di Chamonix, as well as Macbeth (Macbeth), Rigoletto (Rigoletto) and Georges Germont (La Traviata) in Verdi’s operas. When creating the image of Macbeth, the composer consulted with the singer, in particular, he prepared three different versions of the final scene of the opera and offered them for Varesi’s choice. Not all opera premieres were successful. In particular, Varesi’s performance of Germont’s part was a failure.
