Italian singer (tenor). Debut 1837 (Parma). Since 1845 at La Scala. After a number of years in the musical theaters of Europe, he came to St. Petersburg, where he sang at the Italian Opera (1853-75). Among the best roles are Elvino in La Sonnambula, Nemorino, Ramiro in Rossini’s Cinderella, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Paolino in Cimarosa’s Secret Marriage and others.
