French singer (soprano). Debut 1882 (Brussels, Marguerite part). She performed in Parisian theaters (“Opera Comic”, Grand Opera), in Italy. 1st performer of the part of Suzel in Mascagni’s Friend Fritz (1891, Rome). In 1892 she sang at Covent Garden. Participated in the world premieres of a number of Massenet’s operas (including the opera Sappho, 1897). She sang at the Metropolitan Opera in 1893-1904 (debut as Santuzza in the American premiere of Rural Honour). The party Carmen brought Calve the greatest success, to which she sang in Milan, Madrid, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vienna, and others. Her last concert took place in 1938. Author of the memoirs My Life (1922).
