Debut 1907 (Oslo, Cupid’s part in Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck). Until 1918 she performed in Norway, then in Sweden. In 1924 she performed with great success at La Scala with Toscanini (Gilda’s part). She sang at Covent Garden (1936/37, part of Desdemona, etc.), the Grand Opera, etc. In 1932 in Amsterdam she performed all the main female parts in Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann (conducted by Monteux). In 1933-38 she sang at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Mimi). Among the parties are also Violetta, Matilda in William Tell, the title role in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet (in 1935 she recorded this party, Foyer).
