American singer (soprano). Debut 1979 (as a concert singer). In 1982 she sang at the Bavarian Opera, since 1984 on the stage of the Vienna Opera (parts of Countess Almaviva, Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Fiordiligi in Everyone’s Doing It). In 1989 she toured in Moscow with La Scala (Fiordiligi). In 1990 at the Salzburg Festival she sang the part of Eurydice in Haydn’s Orpheus and Eurydice, in 1991 in Washington DC she sang the part of Elijah in Mozart’s Idomeneo. In 1994 she sang the role of Countess Almaviva at the Metropolitan Opera. In the same year she sang the title role in R. Strauss’ Arabella in Düsseldorf. In 1996 she performed the part of Fiordiligi in Washington DC. Recordings include Siebel’s part in Faust (dir. Davies, Philips) and others.
