Daniel Shtoda
Daniil Shtoda – People’s Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, laureate of international competitions, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater.
He graduated with honors from the Choir School at the Academic Chapel. M.I. Glinka. At the age of 13 he made his debut at the Mariinsky Theater, performing the part of Tsarevich Fyodor in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov. In 2000 he graduated from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov (class of L.N. Morozov). Since 1998 he has been a soloist with the Academy of Young Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre. Since 2007 he has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Theatre.
At the VIII Moscow Easter Festival in Moscow, in a joint production of the Chatelet Theater and the Mariinsky Theater, he performed the part of Count Liebenskoff (Rossini’s Journey to Reims). As a member of the Mariinsky Opera Company and with recitals he has performed in Spain, Israel, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Germany, Holland, Great Britain, Finland, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Canada and the USA.
The singer is a diploma winner and winner of the special prize “Hope” of the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition. P.I. Tchaikovsky (Moscow, 1998) and the III International Competition for Young Opera Singers. N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (St. Petersburg, 1998), laureate of international competitions for young opera singers Elena Obraztsova (St. Petersburg, 1999), Operalia by Placido Domingo (2000, Los Angeles), im. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov (St. Petersburg, 2000), im. S. Moniuszko (Poland, 2001).
Daniil Shtoda is actively touring, performing on the famous stages of the world. Together with Larisa Gergieva, he made concert tours of Europe, the cities of the USA and Canada and gave two solo concerts with a program of romances by Russian composers on the stage of the Carnegie Hall concert hall, where he also performed the parts of Lensky (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky) and Nadir (” Pearl Seekers” by Bizet, concert performance). The singer has collaborated with the opera houses of Los Angeles, Florence, Hamburg and Munich (Fenton, Verdi’s Falstaff), the Metropolitan Opera in New York (Lensky, Eugene Onegin), the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London ( Beppo, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci with Placido Domingo, Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Angela Georgiou), Washington Opera House (Don Ottavio, Mozart’s Don Giovanni). He has taken part in the Benjamin Britten Festival in the UK, as well as festivals in Aix-en-Provence (France) and Toronto (Canada).
The singer’s discography includes recordings of Russian romances in an ensemble with Larisa Gergieva, opera arias with the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia (conductor – Konstantin Orbelyan), opera parts – in particular, the part of Don Ottavio in Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni with the outstanding Ferruccio Furlanetto, released by firms EMI and AMG (UK), DELOS (USA) and Vox Artists (Hungary).
