Barbara Daniels

Debut 1974 (Cincinnati, Musetta part). Since 1975 she sang in Innsbruck. She has repeatedly performed at Covent Garden (Musetta, Donna Elvira in Don Juan, Alice Ford in Falstaff). She sang in Kassel (Liu, Manon). Since 1983 at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Musetta). Recent performances include Tosca (1995, Sydney), Alice Ford (1996, Metropolitan Opera). Among the roles are also Senta in Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, Violetta, Zdenka in Arabella by R. Strauss, etc. Among the recordings is the part of Minni in Puccini’s opera The Girl from the West (conducted by L. Slatkin, Deutsche Grammophon).
