Russian singer (tenor). After studying, he performed from 1886 on the stages of Italy, Greece, and South America. In 1890-92 he sang on Russian provincial stages. Soloist of the Bolshoi Theater in 1893-1903 (debut as Radames). The first performer on the Russian stage of the roles of Siegfried in the opera of the same name by Wagner (1), Aeneas in Berlioz’s Troyens in Carthage (1894, both Bolshoi Theater). Among the parties are also Canio, Tannhäuser. In the late 1899s. lost his voice. After leaving the theater, he committed suicide.
