Andrey Dunaev was born in Sayanogorsk in 1969. After graduating from a music school in bayan in 1987, he entered the Stavropol Music College, graduating from which in 1987, he received the specialty of a folk choir conductor.

In 1992, Andrei Dunaev began to study vocals at the Moscow State Institute of Culture in the class of prof. M. Demchenko. In 1997 he entered the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Tchaikovsky, where he continued his vocal lessons in the class of Professor P. Skusnichenko.

Andrey Dunaev is a laureate of a number of international competitions: “Belle voce” in 1998, “Neue Stimmen” in 1999, “Orfeo” (Hannover, Germany) in 2000. He also became a finalist and winner of a special prize at the international vocal competition in Vienna “Belvedere-2000”. In the same year, he takes part in the German television program Stars von Morgen, in which Montserrat Caballé introduces young musicians to the public.

In 2000, Andrey Dunaev joined the troupe of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia and made his successful debut as Alfred in Verdi’s La Traviata. At the Bolshoi Theater, he also performed the role of Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin, Vladimir Igorevich in Borodin’s opera Prince Igor, Rudolf in Puccini’s opera La bohème.

Tours abroad. In 2001, he took part in tours of the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil in Holland, Germany, France, Great Britain, performing the part of Fenton in the opera Falstaff and the part of the Duke in the opera Rigoletto.

In 2002 he sang the role of Vladimir Igorevich in the opera Prince Igor in France, at the Rennes Opera (Strasbourg).

In 2003, he again toured France – he performed the part of Lensky in the opera Eugene Onegin at the opera houses of Toulon and Toulouse, as well as the tenor part in W. A. ​​Mozart’s Requiem at the Rennes Opera, where in 2005 he sang Lensky.

Since 2005, he has been actively collaborating with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where he performed the roles of Ferrando (That’s the way all women do by W. A. ​​Mozart), Macduff, Fenton, Cassio (Otello by G. Verdi), Laerte (Hamlet A . Thomas), Rudolf, Lensky, Don Ottavio (“Don Giovanni” by W. A. ​​Mozart), Edgar (“Lucia di Lammermoor” by G. Donizetti), Alfred, Nemorino (“Love Potion” by G. Donizetti), Ishmael (“ Nabucco” by G. Verdi), Zinovy ​​Borisovich (“Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District” by D. Shostakovich), Herzog, Rinuccio.

In 2006-2008 performed the parts of Alfred, Faust (Ch. Gounod’s Faust) and Rudolf at the Frankfurt Opera, at the Braunschweig State Theater – Rudolf, as well as the tenor part in G. Verdi’s Requiem.

In 2007, at the premiere of Rigoletto at the Graz Opera, he performed the part of the Duke.

In 2008 he sang Rudolf at La Scala and also appeared on the stage of the Essen Philharmonic of the Cologne Philharmonic and the Beethoven Hall in Bonn.

In 2008-09 sang Alfred and Lensky at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin. In 2009 – Faust at the National Theater in Lisbon.
