Sergey Redkin was born in 1991 in Krasnoyarsk. He studied at the Music Lyceum of the Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Music and Theater (piano class of G. Boguslavskaya, improvisation class of E. Markaich), then at the Secondary Special Music School at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (piano class of O. Kurnavina, composition class of Professor A. Mnatsakanyan). During his studies, he won the prize of the All-Russian competition “Young Talents of Russia” and won awards at the international youth competitions of pianists named after S. Rachmaninov in St. Petersburg, named after G. Neuhaus in Moscow, the countries of the Baltic Sea in Estonia and “Classics” in Kazakhstan.

In 2015, Sergei graduated from the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory with a degree in piano (class of Professor A. Sandler) and composition (class of Professor A. Mnatsakanyan) and continued his postgraduate studies. In the same year, the young pianist performed brilliantly at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition and was awarded the III Prize and the Bronze Medal. Also among his achievements are prizes at the international competitions named after I. Paderevsky in Poland, Mai Lind in Finland and S. Prokofiev in St. Petersburg.

Sergei Redkin is a scholarship holder from the Palaces of St. Petersburg Foundation, the St. Petersburg House of Music and Joint Stock Bank Rossiya. Since 2008, he has been taking part in many projects of the House of Music: “Musical Team of Russia”, “River of Talents”, “Embassy of Excellence”, “Russian Thursdays”, “Russian Tuesdays”, concerts of which are held in the northern capital, regions of Russia and abroad. In the direction of the St. Petersburg House of Music, the pianist underwent an internship at the International Piano Academy on Lake Como (Italy). He took part in the master classes of A. Yasinsky, N. Petrov and D. Bashkirov.

Sergei Redkin performs at the best venues in Moscow and St. Petersburg, including the halls of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Chapels of St. Petersburg and the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theater, takes part in the programs of the Moscow Philharmonic, including concerts of season tickets “Young Talents” and “Stars XXI century” in the Concert Hall named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. Participates in prestigious international festivals – the festival of the Mariinsky Theater “Faces of Modern Pianoism”, the Moscow Easter Festival and others.

He tours a lot in Russia and abroad – in Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Monaco, Poland, Israel, the USA and Mexico. Collaborates with the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev, the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the E. F. Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia and other well-known ensembles.
