Debut 1972 (live with the New York Philharmonic). In 1975 she performed for the first time on the theater stage (Detroit, the part of Rosina). In the 1977/78 season she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera. In 1979 she participated in the Glyndebourne Festival, where she sang the role of Nerina in Haydn’s Rewarded Fidelity. She successfully performed the role of Zerbinetta at Covent Garden (1985). She regularly performed at the Salzburg Festival (since 1982). Among the roles of Pamin, Suzanne, Adina, Despina in “That’s what everyone does”, Zerlin in “Don Giovanni”, Elvira in “Italian in Algiers”. Recordings include Zerbinetta (dir. Levine, DG), Oscar in Un ballo in maschera (dir. Solti, Decca) and others.
