Russian singer (bass). He performed at the Zimin Opera House (in 1909-11 and from 1914 until emigration). In 1911-14 at the Bolshoi Theatre. 1st performer of the part of Polkan in the opera The Golden Cockerel (1909). Participated in the 1st production of “Khovanshchina” at the Bolshoi Theater (1912), which was performed by Chaliapin (the party of Ivan Khovansky). He performed in Diaghilev’s Russian Seasons (1909, 1913), where he performed the parts of Konchak and Pimen. In the 20s. left Russia, sang in the Russian private opera Kuznetsova-Benois, toured Europe with Pozemkovsky. Other parts include Pogner in Wagner’s Nuremberg Meistersingers, Ivan Susanin, Neizvestny in Verstovsky’s Askold’s Grave.
