Elena Katulskaya

Russian singer (soprano). Debut 1909 at the Mariinsky Theater (part of Lakme). She sang the part of Cupid in Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice (1911, dir. Meyerhold). In 1913-46 she was a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre. Among the parties are Antonida, Lyudmila, Marfa, Volkhov, Gilda, Violetta, Leonora in Il trovatore, Leila in Bizet’s The Pearl Seekers and others. Conducted concert activity, since 1 she has been teaching. People’s Artist of the USSR.
