Veronika Dzhioeva was born in South Ossetia. In 2000 she graduated from the Vladikavkaz College of Arts in vocal class (class of N. I. Hestanova), and in 2005 from the St. Petersburg Conservatory (class of Professor T. D. Novichenko). The singer’s operatic debut took place in February 2004 as Mimi under the direction of A. Shakhmametyev.

Today, Veronika Dzhioeva is one of the most sought-after singers not only in Russia, but also far beyond its borders. She has performed concerts in the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, USA, China, Hungary, Finland, South Korea and Japan. The singer embodied on stage the images of the Countess (“The Wedding of Figaro”), Fiordiligi (“Everybody Does It So”), Donna Elvira (“Don Giovanni”), Gorislava (“Ruslan and Lyudmila”), Yaroslavna (“Prince Igor”), Martha ( “The Tsar’s Bride”), Tatyana (“Eugene Onegin”), Mikaela (“Carmen”), Violetta (“La Traviata”), Elizabeth (“Don Carlos”), Lady Macbeth (“Macbeth”), Thais (“Thais”) , Liu (“Turandot”), Marta (“The Passenger”), The young singer is the leading soloist of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater and a guest soloist of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters.

The recognition of the metropolitan public came to her after the performance of the part of Fiordiligi in Mozart’s opera “That’s How Everyone Do It” under the direction of maestro T. Currentzis (Moscow House of Music, 2006). One of the resonant premieres on the capital’s stage was R. Shchedrin’s choral opera Boyar Morozova, where Veronika Dzhioeva performed the part of Princess Urusova. In August 2007, the singer made her debut as Zemfira (“Aleko” by Rachmaninov) under the direction of M. Pletnev.

Participation in the premiere of the opera Aleko by the Mariinsky Theater (staged by M. Trelinsky), which took place in St. Petersburg, as well as in Baden-Baden under the baton of maestro V. Gergiev, brought the singer great success. In November 2009, the premiere of Bizet’s Carmen took place in Seoul, staged by A. Stepanyuk, where Veronica performed as Michaela. Veronika Dzhioeva fruitfully collaborates with European theaters, including the Teatro Petruzzelli (Bari), Teatro Comunale (Bologna), Teatro Real (Madrid). In Palermo (Teatro Massimo), the singer sang the title role in Donizetti’s Maria Stuart, and this season at the Hamburg Opera she sang the part of Yaroslavna (Prince Igor). The premiere of Puccini’s Sisters Angelica with the participation of Veronika Dzhioeva was successfully held at the Teatro Real. In the US, the singer made her debut at the Houston Opera as Donna Elvira.

The concert life of the young singer is no less rich. She performed soprano parts in requiems by Verdi and Mozart, Mahler’s 2nd symphony, Beethoven’s 9th symphony, Mozart’s Grand Mass (conductor Yu. Bashmet), Rachmaninov’s poem The Bells. Significant events in her creative biography were the recent performance of “Four Last Songs” by R. Strauss, as well as a performance in Verdi’s Requiem in France with the National Orchestra of Lille under the direction of maestro Casadeizus, as well as the Verdi Requiem was performed in Stockholm under the direction of maestro Laurence René.

In the concert repertoire of Veronika Dzhioeva, a significant role is assigned to the works of contemporary authors. The Russian public especially remembered the vocal cycles “The Run of Time” by B. Tishchenko, “The Lament of the Guitar” by A. Minkov. In Europe, the fantasy “Razluchnitsa-winter” by the young St. Petersburg composer A. Tanonov, performed in Bologna under the direction of maestro O. Gioya (Brazil), gained popularity.

In April 2011, the audience of Munich and Lucerne applauded the singer – she performed the part of Tatiana in “Eugene Onegin” with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Maris Jansons, with whom the collaboration continued with the performance of the soprano part in Mahler’s 2nd Symphony with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam , St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Veronika Dzhioeva is a laureate of numerous competitions, including Maria Callas Grand Prix (Athens, 2005), the Amber Nightingale international competition (Kaliningrad, 2006), the Claudia Taev International Competition (Pärnu, 2007), the All-Russian Opera Singers Competition (St. Petersburg, 2005), the International Competition named after M. I. Glinka (Astrakhan, 2003), the International Competition World Vision and the All-Russian Competition named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. The singer is the owner of many theatrical awards, including the “Golden Mask”, “Golden Soffit”. For her performance as Lady Macbeth in a joint Russian-French production of Verdi’s opera Macbeth directed by D. Chernyakov and also for the role of Martha Weinberg’s Passenger, she was awarded the Paradise Prize, and in 2010 – the National Prize of the Czech Republic “EURO Pragensis Ars” for merit in the arts. In November 2011, Veronika Dzhioeva won the television competition “Big Opera” on the TV channel “Culture”. Among the numerous recordings of the singer, the album “Opera Arias” is especially popular. At the end of 2007, a new CD-album was released, recorded in collaboration with the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. The voice of Veronika Dzhioeva often sounds in television films (“Monte Cristo”, “Vasilyevsky Island”, etc.). In 2010, a television film directed by P. Golovkin “Winter Wave Solo” was released, dedicated to the work of Veronika Dzhioeva.

In 2009, Veronika Dzhioeva was awarded the honorary titles of Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and Honored Artist of the Republic of South Ossetia.

Veronika collaborates with outstanding musicians and conductors: Maris Jansons, Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Ingo Metziacher, Trevor Pinnock, Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Bashmet, Rodion Shchedrin, Simon Young and others… Veronika also collaborates with the best theaters in Europe and Russia. This year, Veronica sang the soprano part in Saint-Saens and Bruckner’s Requiem Te Deum. Veronika performed with the Czech Philormonic Symphony Orchestra of Prague at the Rudolfinum. Veronika has several concerts ahead of her in Prague with the best symphony orchestras in Prague. Veronika prepares the roles of Aida, Elizabeth “Tannhäuser”, Margarita “Faust” for Russian and European theaters.

Veronika is a member of the jury of various All-Russian and international competitions, with such outstanding musicians as Elena Obraztsova, Leonid Smetannikov and others …

In 2014, Veronika was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Ossetia.

In 2014, Veronika was nominated for the Golden Mask Award – Best Actress for the role of Elizabeth of Valois from the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.

In 2014, Veronika received the “Person of the Year” award from the Republic of South Ossetia.
