David Kuebler
American singer (tenor). He made his debut in 1972 (Santa Fe). In 1974 he performed in Bern (part of Tamino). Since 1976 at the Glyndebourne Festival (1976, Ferrando in “That’s what everyone does”; 1990, Matteo in “Arabella” by R. Strauss). In 1988 he sang with Bartoli in The Barber of Seville at the Schwetzingen Festival (Almaviva). In 1979 he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera, in 1981 he successfully performed the part of Tamino there. In 1980-82 at the Bayreuth Festival he sang the part of the Helmsman in Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman. In 1992 he sang in Berlioz’s oratorio The Damnation of Faust at the Bregenz Festival. He performed the role of Alva in Berg’s Lulu (1996, Glyndebourne Festival). Among the recordings is Almaviva’s party (dir. Ferro, video, RCA Victor).
