Daniil Trifonov was born in Nizhny Novgorod in 1991 and is one of the brightest pianists of the new generation. In the 2010–11 season, he became a laureate of three of the most prestigious contemporary music competitions: them. F. Chopin in Warsaw, im. Arthur Rubinstein in Tel Aviv and them. P. I. Tchaikovsky in Moscow. During his performances, Trifonov impressed the jury and observers, including Martha Argerich, Christian Zimerman, Van Cliburn, Emanuel Ax, Nelson Freire, Efim Bronfman and Valery Gergiev. Gergiev in Moscow personally presented Trifonov with the Grand Prix, a prize awarded to the best participant in all nominations of the competition.

In the 2011–12 season, after winning these competitions, Trifonov was invited to perform on the biggest stages in the world. Among his engagements this season are debuts with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra under Valery Gergiev, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta and the Warsaw Philharmonic under Anthony Wit, as well as collaborations with such conductors as Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Fedoseev , Sir Neville Marriner, Pietari Inkinen and Eivind Gulberg-Jensen. He will also perform at Salle Pleyel in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Wigmore Hall in London and various halls in Italy, France, Israel and Poland.

Daniil Trifonov’s recent performances include his debut in Tokyo, solo concerts at the Mariinsky Concert Hall and the Moscow Easter Festival, Chopin’s birthday concert in Warsaw with Krzysztof Penderecki, solo concerts at the La Fenice Theater in Italy and at the Brighton Festival ( Great Britain), as well as performances with the Orchestra. Daniil Trifonov started playing the piano at the age of five. In 2000-2009, he studied at the Gnessin Moscow School of Music, in the class of Tatiana Zelikman, who brought up many young talents, including Konstantin Lifshits, Alexander Kobrin and Alexei Volodin.

From 2006 to 2009 he also studied composition, and currently continues to compose piano, chamber and orchestral music. In 2009, Daniil Trifonov entered the Cleveland Institute of Music, in the class of Sergei Babayan.

In 2008, at the age of 17, the musician became a laureate of the IV International Scriabin Competition in Moscow and the III International Piano Competition of the Republic of San Marino (receiving the I prize and the special prize “Republic of San Marino – 2008”).

Daniil Trifonov is also a laureate of the Anna Artobolevskaya Moscow Open Competition for Young Pianists (1999st prize, 2003), the International Felix Mendelssohn Memorial Competition in Moscow (2003st prize, 2005), the International Television Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow (Grand Prix, 2007), the Festival chamber music “Return” (Moscow, 2006 and 2006), the Festival of Romantic Music for Young Musicians (Moscow, XNUMX), the V International Frederic Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (Beijing, XNUMX).

In 2009, Daniil Trifonov received a grant from the Guzik Foundation and toured the United States and Italy. He also performed in Russia, Germany, Austria, Poland, China, Canada and Israel. Daniil Trifonov has repeatedly performed at international music festivals, including the Rheingau Festival (Germany), Crescendo and New Names festivals (Russia), Arpeggione (Austria), Musica in Villa (Italy), Maira Hess Festival ( USA), Round Top International Festival (USA), Santo Stefano Festival and Trieste Piano Festival (Italy).

The pianist’s first CD was released by Decca in 2011, and his CD with Chopin’s works is expected to be released in the future. He also made several recordings on television in Russia, the USA and Italy.
