She made her debut in 1977 (San Francisco, part of Vitellia in Mozart’s “Mercy of Titus”). Since 1979 she has performed at the New York City Opera (parts of Antonia in the op. Tales of Hoffmann by Offenbach, Violetta, etc.). From 1982 she sang at Covent Garden, from 1984 at the Metropolitan Opera (debut as Armida in Handel’s Rinaldo). Since 1982, she has repeatedly sung with success at the Glyndebourne Festival (Elektra in Mozart’s Idomeneo, Donna Anna, Fiordiligi in Mozart’s So Do Everyone). At the Grand Opera in 1987 she sang the part of Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. With great success in 1985 she performed in Seattle in the opera “Manon” (the title role). In 1986 she participated with Pavarotti in a concert at New York’s Lincoln Center. Among the performances of recent years is the role of Norma in Opera-Bastille (1996). Recorded a number of parts in op. Mozart, including the parts of Fiordiligi (conductor Haitink, EMI), Donna Anna (conductor aka RCA Victor).
