Children’s outdoor games to music

Pay attention to how children react to the sounds of music. Their body parts begin to tap, stomp to the beat and eventually they break into a dance that cannot be limited by any dance in the world. Their movements are unique and original, in a word, individual. Due to the fact that children are so sensitive to music, they are very fond of children’s outdoor games accompanied by music. In turn, such games help them open up and reveal their talents: musical, singing. Children become more sociable, easily making contact with the team.

Another big advantage of outdoor games accompanied by music is that all useful information for the child comes in an easy playful form, which simplifies the learning process and makes it attractive. All this, together with active actions such as walking, running, arm movements, jumping, squats and many others, has a positive effect on the physical development of the child. Below we will look at the main and popular outdoor games with music for children.

Finding your place

Children stand in a circle, each remembering their place – who is behind whom. After the command “Disperse!” Cheerful music starts playing, children run around. During one period of the game, the music should change in tempo, slow – walking, fast – running. Then the command “Get to your places!” sounds. – children need to line up in the same order in a circle as they originally stood. Anyone who is confused and stands in the wrong place is eliminated from the game. All this develops memory and sense of rhythm well.

Gray wolf

Before the game, they choose a driver – a gray wolf, he must hide. At the signal, the children begin to run around the hall to the music and hum the words of the song:

After the end of the song, a gray wolf runs out of his hiding place and begins to catch the children. Whoever is caught leaves the game, and the wolf hides again. After several rounds of the game, a new driver is selected. This game develops attention and reaction in children.

Improvisation to music

To the tune of dance tunes, children begin to perform voluntary movements: dance, jump, run, and so on. The music stops – children need to freeze in place. A certain signal is heard, agreed upon at the beginning of the game, for example: clap – you must sit down, hit the tambourine – you must lie down, the sound of a whistle – jump. The winner is the one who correctly performs the movements or takes the required position when given the appropriate signal. Then everything starts all over again. The game develops attention, musical memory and hearing.

Space Odyssey

In the corners there are hoops – rockets, each rocket has two seats. There isn’t enough room for everyone. Children stand in a circle in the center of the hall and begin to move to the music, singing the words:

And all the children run away, trying to quickly take the empty seats in the rockets (run into the hoop). Those who did not have time are lined up in the center of the circle. One of the hoops is removed and the game, developing speed and reaction, continues.

Musical chairs

In the center of the hall, chairs are lined up in a circle according to the number of players, with the exception of the driver. Children are divided into teams, each memorizing one melody. When the first melody sounds, one team, whose melody it is, moves in a circle behind the driver. When the music changes, the second team gets up and follows the driver, and the first team sits on chairs. If a third melody sounds, which does not belong to any team, all children must get up and follow the driver; after the music stops, both teams, together with the driver, must take their places on the chairs. The participant who does not have time to sit on the chair becomes the driver. The game develops children’s attention and reaction, ear for music and memory.

All children’s outdoor games accompanied by music are perceived by children with great joy. They can be divided into three categories: games of high mobility, medium and small. The differences between them, as the names suggest, lie in the activity of the participants. But no matter what category the game belongs to, the main thing is that it fulfills its functions for the development of the child.
