1) A term applied to music in the andante character, but with lighter, less emphasized accents on the main. metric shares. Denotes a more lively tempo compared to andante (previously, such an understanding was not the only one; J. J. Rousseau in 1767 pointed out that A. denotes a slower tempo compared to andante).

2) A work or part of a cycle in character A. Contrary to popular belief, it was called. A. does not necessarily testify to relates. the brevity of the work.
