Alessandro Corbelli
Italian singer (baritone). Debut 1974 (Bergamo, the part of Marseille in La bohème). Sang in Italian theaters. In 1983 he performed at La Scala as Taddeo in Rossini’s The Italian Girl in Algiers. In 1985 he sang Dandini in Rossini’s Cinderella at the Glyndebor Festival. In 1989 he performed at Covent Garden in one of his best parts (Taddeo). In the same year, he toured Moscow with La Scala (the part of Guglielmo in “That’s what everyone does”). At the Salzburg Festival. 1990-91 Corbelli sang the part of Don Alfonso in the same opera. He sang the part of Leporello at La Scala, Naples (1993-95). In 1996 he performed at the Grand Opera (Dandini). The roles also include Figaro, Prosdocimo in Rossini’s The Turk in Italy, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, Malatesta in the opera Don Pasquale, and others. Among the recordings of the part are Dandini (conducted by Chailly, Decca), Malatesta (conducted by B. Campanella, Nuova Era).
