Martina Arroyo
Debut 1958 (concert at Carnegie Hall). She performed in small roles at the Metropolitan Opera. Since 1963 she sang in Zurich, then at the Vienna Opera, where she performed with great success as Aida. Since 1965, again at the Metropolitan Opera (Aida, Elsa in Lohengrin, Donna Anna, etc.). In Covent Garden since 1968. She performed in Hamburg, Munich, the Grand Opera, the Colon Theater, etc. Participates in the performances of works of avant-garde music (Stockhausen, L. Dallapicola). Among the parts are Tosca, Liu, Lady Macbeth, Donna Anna and others. Among the recordings of the part of Valentina in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots (dir. Boning, Decca), Helena in Verdi’s Sicilian Vespers (dir. Levine, RCA Victor).
