Debut 1976 (Washington, Lindor’s part in The Italian Girl in Algiers). Blake’s big success came in 1977 when he sang the title role in op. Count Ory by Rossini on the stage of the New York City Opera. In 1981 he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Lindor. Later he performed on the leading stages of the USA (Chicago) and Europe (Hamburg, Vienna, Munich). He often performs (since 1983) at the Rossini festivals in Pesaro. In the repertoire of the singer, mainly roles in the operas of Rossini, Donizetti, Mozart, we note his performances in Aix-en-Provence (1983, the title role in the op. “Mithridates, King of Pontus” by Mozart), in Pesaro (1985, the part of Osirides in the op. ” Moses in Egypt by Rossini), in Lisbon (1993, as Don Ramiro in Cinderella). Among the recordings is Almaviva’s party (dir R.Weikert, video, DG).
