Russian singer (tenor). Debut 1863 (Mariinsky Theatre, part of Gennaro in Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia). He performed in the theater until 1880. 1st Spanish. the roles of Don Juan in Dargomyzhsky’s The Stone Guest (1872), the Pretender in Boris Godunov (1874), Sinodal in The Demon (1875), Vakula in the first edition. “Cherevichek” by Tchaikovsky (1876, was called “Blacksmith Vakula”). Other parties include Faust (1st performer on the Russian stage), Manrico, Lionel in Flotov’s March, Duke. From 1882 he taught.
