Italian singer (baritone). Debut 1984 (Rome, part of Pasha Seid in Verdi’s Le Corsaire). From 1985 he sang in Bologna (parts of Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Germont, Rodrigo in Verdi’s Don Carlos, etc.). Since 1987 at Covent Garden, since 1988 at the Metropolitan Opera (the part of Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, etc.), in 1989 he performed the part of Paolo in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra at La Scala. In 1993 he sang in Geneva (the part of Miller in Verdi’s Luisa Miller), in 1994 he sang in Naples the part of Renato in Un ballo in maschera. In 1995 he performed at La Scala as Germont. Among the recordings of the part of Alphonse in The Favorite by Donizetti (conducted by F. Luisi, Nuova Era), Germont (conducted by Muti, Sony).
