Austrian singer (soprano), sister of A.Konechny. Debut 1929 (Chemnitz, part of Sieglinde in Valkyrie). Since 1936 at the Vienna Opera (debut as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser), where she sang for about 30 years. In 1936-41 she sang at the Salzburg Festival (parts of Donna Anna, Agatha in The Free Arrow, Leonora in Fidelio, Marshall in The Rosenkavalier). In 1938-39 she sang at Covent Garden, where during one of the performances of the Rosenkavalier she replaced the suddenly ill Lotta Lehman. Made a tour of the United States (1937-39).
