Natalia Trull
Natalia Trull – laureate of international competitions in Belgrade (Yugoslavia, 1983, 1986st prize), them. P. I. Tchaikovsky (Moscow, 1993, II prize), Monte Carlo (Monaco, 2002, Grand Prix). Honored Artist of Russia (XNUMX), professor at the Moscow Conservatory.
In the “competition” of performers, the championship still belongs to men, although the times when women were ordered to enter the open concert stage are long gone. Equality of opportunity established. But…
“If we consider the technical difficulties that have to be overcome,” says Natalia Trull, “it is much less convenient for a woman to play the piano than for a man. Not to mention the fact that the life of a concert artist is not well suited for women. The history of instrumental performance does not seem to be in favor of the female gender. However, there was such a great pianist as Maria Veniaminovna Yudina. Among our contemporaries there are also many outstanding pianists, for example. Martha Argerich or Eliso Virsaladze. This gives me confidence that even “insurmountable” difficulties are just a stage. A stage that requires maximum tension of emotional and physical strength … “
It seems that this is how Natalia Trull lives and works. Her artistic career slowly developed. Without fuss – studying at the Moscow Conservatory with Y. I. Zak, then with M. S. Voskresensky, who played a particularly significant role in the creative development of the young pianist. Finally, an assistant-internship at the Leningrad Conservatory under the guidance of Professor T. P. Kravchenko. And she entered the competitive path, by today’s standards, at a fairly mature age, becoming the winner of the competition in Belgrade in 1983. However, the competition named after P. I. Tchaikovsky in 1986 brought her special success. Here she did not become the owner of the highest award, sharing the second prize with I. Plotnikova. More importantly, the audience’s sympathies turned out to be on the artist’s side, and they grew from tour to tour. In each of them, the pianist demonstrated both an excellent understanding of the classics, and an inner penetration into the world of romance, and an understanding of the laws of modern music. Quite a harmonious gift …
“Trull,” said Professor S. L. Dorensky, “every phrase, every detail is verified, and in the general plan there is always a precisely developed and consistently executed artistic plan.” With this prudence in her game, there is always a captivating sincerity of playing music. And the audience felt it when they “cheered” for her.
Not without reason, shortly after the Moscow competition, Trull admitted: “The audience, the listener is a very big inspiring force, and an artist simply needs a sense of respect for his audience. Maybe that’s why, the more responsible the concert, the more successfully I play, in my opinion. And although before entering the stage you are incredibly nervous when you sit down at the instrument, the fear is gone. All that remains is a feeling of excitement and emotional uplift, which undoubtedly help. These words are worth paying attention to novice artists.
