Composer Mikhail Efimovich Kroshner completed his musical education at the Minsk Conservatory in the composition class of V. Zolotarev (1937).

The Nightingale is the first Belarusian ballet. The composer successfully used in it the melodies and rhythms of Belarusian folk songs and dances – “Lyavonikha”, “Yurrchka”, “Yanka-Polka”, “Kryzhachok”, “Metelitsa” and along with them Polish dances – Mazurka, Polonaise, Krakowiak.
