German singer (tenor). Debut 1928 (Aachen, part of Walther in Wagner’s Nuremberg Mastersingers). Zuthaus is a specialist in Wagner’s work. He sang at the Bayreuth Festival in 3-1943 (parts of Walter, Sigmund in the “Valkyrie”). He performed at Covent Garden (57-1952), La Scala, Grand Opera (53-1953), and other theaters. Successfully toured the USSR (56). A creative union connected Zuthaus with the greatest conductor of the 1955th century. Furtwängler. With him he recorded the title role in Tristan und Isolde (3, EMI). Other parts include Loge in the Rhine Gold, Florestan in Fidelio.
