Igor Morozov
He began professional music lessons relatively late, in 1932. After graduating from a musical college, he entered the Moscow Conservatory in the composition class of V. Shebalin. During the years of study, he wrote a string quartet, a sonata and a sonata for piano, romances to the words of Pushkin and Soviet poets, music for documentaries, in subsequent years – the symphony-epic “Ermak”, Prelude in memory of S. Taneyev, songs to the words of Soviet poets.
The ballet “Doctor Aibolit” was written in 1947. The witty characteristics of Tanechka and Vanechka, Kapitoni’s trainer, and animals give the music stage specificity, and fluency in different types of dance music is danceability so important for a ballet performance.
