Since 1958 she has performed in concerts, making her operatic debut in 1961 in Cologne, then for a number of years she sang in various German theaters. She performed the part of Pamina with great success in Munich and at the Salzburg Festival (1967). Since 1970 she has been a soloist of the Vienna Opera, with whom she toured in Moscow (1971, as Sophie in The Rosenkavalier). She made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1991 as Marcellina in Fidelio. Here she performed the part of Susanna (1994). In 1996, she performed as Mimi at the opening of a theater in Detroit. Other roles include the Queen of the Night, Micaela, Eva in the opera The Mastersingers of Nuremberg, etc. Among the recordings, we note the roles of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini (conducted by Patane, RCA Victor), Susanna (conducted by Davis, RCA Victor).
