American singer (baritone), son of singer L. Kiliko. Debut 1977 (Toronto, Opera Medium by Menotti). He sang for a number of years in American and Canadian theaters. He made his debut in Europe in 1981 (Grand Opera, as Ned Keane in Britten’s Peter Grimes), in 1983 he performed with great success as Valentine in Faust at Covent Garden. In 1985, at the Aix-en-Provence festival, he sang the title role in Monteverdi’s Orfeo (in baritone version). He performed the part of Figaro at the Schwetzingen Festival in 1988 (together with Bartoli as Rosina). In 1990 he performed the role of Valentine at the Metropolitan Opera. In the same place in 1991 he was a participant in the world premiere of the opera The Ghosts of Versailles by D. Corigliano. Among the performances of recent years is the role of Iago in Cologne (1996). The repertoire also includes the parts of Escamillo, Count Almaviva, Papageno. Recorded a number of roles, including the part of Zurgi in The Pearl Seekers, Mercutio in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet (both dir. Plasson, EMI).
