A number of music festivals will be held in Sochi in November
Krasnodar region is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia in recent years. This is primarily due to the expansion and modernization of Sochi and the surrounding area following the Winter Olympics held there, as well as the World Cup matches, which were attended by hundreds of thousands of fans. The Sochi region has traditionally been considered one of the best summer holiday destinations for Russians. However, now Sochi has turned into a world-class international resort, where tourists and guests from all over the world come in different seasons of the year.
Against the background of the general development of Sochi, a big breakthrough occurred in the development of the cultural side of the city’s life. Film festivals, exhibitions and important music events began to take place here more and more often and attract more visitors. Sochi has become one of the capitals of Russian cultural life, and this is primarily due to music. In November, despite the fact that it will be quite cool, many interesting musical events will take place in Sochi and its surroundings that will delight the public.
Quite recently, Sochi hosted several vibrant musical events that the city will remember. In the fall, a major event ended not only for the city and the region, but also for the entire musical life of the country – the XX Organ Music Festival was held in Sochi. Over the 20 years of the traditional festival, 74 artists from 21 countries have performed at the venues. This year, guests from St. Petersburg performed here for the first time – famous musicians organist Marina Vyazya and guitarist Alexander Spiranov.
The beginning of November was marked by the International Festival of Asia. As part of the festival in Sochi, an international musical theater from South Korea performed. The main highlight of the Korean theater program is the ensemble of Korean folk instruments, which allowed guests to get acquainted with Korean traditional music. It is worth noting that this is the second Asian Music Festival in Sochi. Last year, the famous Peking Opera was presented within its framework.
On November 3, a number of events dedicated to the “Night of the Arts” were held, the culmination of which was the performance of the Philharmonic artists who played classical music at the N. Ostrovsky House-Museum.
Already on November 6, music fans will be treated to a gift in the form of a concert in a chamber format by the soloists of the St. Petersburg House of Music Andrey Telkov, playing the piano, and violinist Dmitry Smirnov. The event will take place on the stage of the Sirius Science and Art Park and will include a number of famous classical works in its program.
Alexander Buinov will perform at the Winter Theater in Sochi on November 11, and Yuri Bashmet will visit the stage with a big gala concert on the 21st. The Golden Prometheus awards will also be presented here to the best travel companies, at which Russian pop stars will perform on November 19. But the largest number of stars in November awaits on its stage at the Velvet Theater in Krasnaya Polyana.
In 2017, a new music venue, very important for Russian show business, appeared in Sochi – the Velvet Theater, located on the territory of the Sochi Hotel-Casino entertainment complex in Krasnaya Polyana. Already in the first months of the opening of the concert hall and club, the groups Leningrad, Umaturman, Via Gra, Valery Meladze, Lolita, Abraham Russo and many other stars performed there.
The complex was initially opened primarily for gaming enthusiasts and became the first official Russian casino to welcome its first visitors in early January 2017. International poker tournaments, organized in partnership with the largest poker room PokerStars, have become traditional here, and players from more than 100 countries have already attended them, including such famous professionals as Phil Ivey, Vanessa Selbst and others. However, very quickly the Sochi Hotel-Casino became known as a great place to relax in any season, a place for quality shopping, as well as a platform for music and show programs. Famous performers perform at the Velvet Theater every week.
November of this year will be no exception for music lovers. On November 2, Semyon Slepakov performed here. Already on November 8, one of the most stellar groups of the last century, the French Ottawan, arrives to play their best disco hits. The singer with one of the most memorable and unusual vocals in Russia, Vladimir Presnyakov, will perform in Velveeta on November 15, and a week later another owner of an amazing voice and a bright reputation in the world of Russian show business, Gluck’oza, will be on stage. Finally, Soso Pavliashvili will close the bright program of November with his performance. The concert will take place on November 29. Such a scattering of stars undoubtedly makes the Theater one of the most wonderful musical venues in the Sochi region. It is also worth noting that in addition to concerts, the Theater hosts DJ parties and various events every day that will be interesting for guests to attend. The complex is open to guests all year round.
