Yuri Bogdanov is one of the most gifted pianists of our time. He received wide international recognition, first of all, as a performer of the music of F. Schubert and A. Scriabin.

In 1996, the recording of sonatas and three posthumously published plays by F. Schubert performed by Y. Bogdanov was recognized by the Franz Schubert Institute in Vienna as the best interpretation of Schubert’s works in the world in the 1995/1996 season. In 1992, the musician was awarded the first scholarship in Russia to them. A. N. Scriabin, established by the State Memorial House-Museum of the Composer.

Yuri Bogdanov began playing the piano at the age of four under the guidance of an outstanding teacher A. D. Artobolevskaya, at the same time he studied composition with T. N. Rodionova. In 1990 he graduated from the Central Secondary Specialized Music School, in 1995 from the Moscow Conservatory and in 1997 from an assistant traineeship. His teachers at the Central Music School were A. D. Artobolevskaya, A. A. Mndoyants, A. A. Nasedkin; at the T. P. Nikolaev Conservatory; in graduate school – A. A. Nasedkin and M. S. Voskresensky. Yuri Bogdanov was awarded awards and laureate titles at international competitions: them. J. S. Bach in Leipzig (1992, III prize), im. F. Schubert in Dortmund (1993, II prize), im. F. Mendelssohn in Hamburg (1994, III prize), im. F. Schubert in Vienna (1995, Grand Prix), im. Esther-Honens in Calgary (IV Prize), im. S. Seiler in Kitzingen (2001, IV prize). Y. Bogdanov is the winner of the April Spring festival in Pyongyang (2004) and the owner of a special prize at the international piano competition in Sydney (1996).

In 1989, the pianist played his first solo concert at the Scriabin House-Museum and has been active in concert since then.

He performed in more than 60 cities of Russia and more than 20 countries. Only in 2008-2009. the musician has played more than 60 solo concerts and concerts with symphony orchestras in Russia, including a solo concert at the Moscow Philharmonic with a program of works by F. Mendelssohn. In 2010, Bogdanov triumphantly performed in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kostroma, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Paris with a program of works by Chopin and Schumann, participated in festivals in Sochi, Yakutsk, at the presentation of projects of the Chardonno Academy in France. In the 2010-2011 season Yu. Bogdanov had a number of engagements in the Great Hall of the Astrakhan Conservatory, in the Vologda Philharmonic, Cherepovets, Salekhard, Ufa, as well as Norway, France, Germany.

Since 1997 Y. Bogdanov has been a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic. He performed in the best concert halls in Moscow, including the Great Hall of the Conservatory and the Concert Hall. P. I. Tchaikovsky, played with the symphony orchestras of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Russia, Cinematography, the Moscow Philharmonic, Deutsche Kammerakademie, Calgary Philharmonic, the State Symphony Orchestra conducted by V. Ponkin, the Symphony Orchestra of Russia conducted by V. Dudarova and others. The pianist collaborated with conductors: V. Ponkin, P. Sorokin, V. Dudarova, E. Dyadyura, S. Violin, E. Serov, I. Goritsky, M. Bernardi, D. Shapovalov, A. Politikov, P. Yadykh, A. Gulyanitsky, E. Nepalo, I. Derbilov and others. He also performs with great success in duets with famous musicians such as Evgeny Petrov (clarinet), Alexei Koshvanets (violin) and others. The pianist has recorded 8 CDs.

Yuri Bogdanov conducts teaching activities, is an associate professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Gnesins, GMPI them. M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov and the Magnitogorsk State Conservatory. Participated in the work of the jury of many piano competitions. Founder, artistic director and chairman of the jury of the international children’s competition of performing skills “Where art is born” in Krasnodar. Invited to participate in creative schools for gifted children in various regions of Russia and abroad. He is one of the founders and vice-president of the Music Foundation. A. D. Artobolevskaya and the International Charitable Foundation Y. Rozum. Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in the section “Humanities and creativity” (2005).

He was awarded the Silver Order “Service to Art” by the International Charitable Foundation “Patrons of the Century” and the medal “Honor and Benefit” of the “Good People of the World” movement, was awarded the honorary title “Honored Artist of Russia”. In 2008, the management of the Steinway Company awarded him the title of “Steinway-artist”. In 2009 in Norway and in 2010 in Russia a book was published about outstanding cultural figures of Russia and Norway, one of the sections of which is devoted to an interview with Y. Bogdanov.
